We are often approached by main clients, engineering services providers and multi-disciplinary consultancies who all require skilled and experienced AutoCAD operators to work in their design offices.

CAD Technicians and Operators

Giraffe often have requirements for skilled CAD technicians and AutoCAD operators. The work could involve a variety of disciplines; civil structural, or electrical, mechanical, rail or telecoms. Applicants with experience of AutoCAD or other 2D and 3D CAD software ie PDMS, STAAD and STAAD Pro, HYSYS, SlopeW, Solidworks etc, are encouraged to contact us. CAD operators can be involved in design offices in a variety of ways, you may be updating and modifying existing drawings or assisting the design team in draughting plans and drawings for new schemes of work. You may be working in a variety of industries, civil structural or electrical and instrumentation, mechanical, rail, telecoms or geotechnical disciplines all require skilled CAD operators as part of the team. People with good draughting skills starting out as 2D and 3D CAD operators may progress to become designers or engineers in time, knowledge of codes and standards would be required to progress to these levels. Those who have knowledge of European Engineering Codes (Eurocodes) which will be replacing the existing codes, will be in demand in civil structural disciplines in coming years.
